Cochin Shipyard Ltd the largest Greenfield Shipyard of India requires personnel for the
following posts.

Ship Draftsman
(Mechanical) Trainees
18 Posts -SC-2, OBC-
5, UR-11)
Pass in SSLC, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with
60% marks or its equivalent with flair for D’Man ship
and proficiency in CAD.

(Electrical) Trainees
[5 Posts-SC-1, OBC-1,
UR-3)
Pass in SSLC, Diploma in Electrical Engineering with
60% marks or its equivalent with flair for D’Man ship
and proficiency in CAD.

(Instrumentation)
Trainee
[1Post- UR)
Pass in SSLC, Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering
with 60% marks or its equivalent with flair for D’Man
ship and proficiency in CAD.
B. Stipend
The Ship Draftsman Trainees will be paid stipend of Rs 4000/-pm during the
first year of training and Rs.4500/-pm during the second year. On successful
completion of two years Ship Draftsman training they may be considered for
appointment to the post of Senior Ship Draughtsman Grade IV in the scale of pay of
Rs. 4700-110-5800-120-7480.
C. Age:
Shall not exceed 27 years as on 15 May 2008 relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST,
3 years for OBC, 10 years for PWD.
D. Method of Selection
By Written and Practical Test/Interview to be held at Cochin Shipyard Ltd,
Kochi
E. General
i) Government of India Directives on reservation applicable for OBC/SC/ST/PWD
candidates will apply and be strictly followed.
ii) *One post of Ship Draftsman Trainee is reserved for Persons With Disabilities,
which is earmarked for HH category with the physical requirement of ST, S, W,
B, L, SE, KC,F and PP. The degree of disability should be between 40% and
50%. The candidate should possess a latest Certificate to this effect issued by
an authorized Medical Board constituted by the Government of India/State
Government.
iii) Applicants meeting requirement and short listed only will be required to appear
for the Test/Personal Interview. Candidates are advised to make sure that
they are meeting the eligibility requirements for the post before applying.
iv) Candidates should enclose copies of certificates in proof of age, qualification,
experience and caste and their candidature will be considered on the strength
of those certificates and information provided in the applications. If at any
stage it is found that any information furnished is false/incorrect or the
candidate does not satisfy the eligibility criteria, the candidature is liable to be
cancelled/rejected. No correspondence regarding the rejection of application in
case of ineligibility will be entertained.
v)
Those who are working in Government Departments or Public Sector
Organizations should send their applications through proper channel or
submit “No Objection Certificate” from the employer.
vi) Those fulfilling the prescribed requirements may please forward their
applications in the prescribed form affixing recent passport size photograph,
supported by attested copies of certificates to prove age, qualifications (with
marks lists), experience, Caste etc. to The DEPUTY GENERAL MANAGER

vii) Candidates should ensure that all the entries have been correctly filled in and
the Application submitted is duly signed. Applications received not in the
prescribed format and without attested copies of certificates will be rejected.
ix) Last date for receipt of applications is 15 May 2008. Applications received after
the stipulated date will not be considered on any grounds.
